The Gringo Story

Gringo was born in Australia at the start of 1984, after years of travelling the world. Our founders Deb and Dave wanted to combine their passions of personal freedom, funky vibes and helping the less fortunate and so Gringo was born.

-

Beginning selling Mexican silver up and down the Australian coast, and over time branching out into the ethical, unique & handmade (not to forget colourful!) clothing we now know and love!

-

In 1991 Deb and Dave decided to move back home to the UK bringing the sunshine (at least in clothing form) with them and haven’t looked back! Fast forward to today Gringo is a thriving independent business supplying
ethically sourced fairtrade products from Nepal, India, Thailand, and Bali.

-

Our range has expanded significantly from the early days, now covering a vast array of in-house designed colourful, bags, accessories, and giftware.

-

Dave and Deb remain passionate about traveling and ensure they visit their suppliers turned friends every year to uphold the core values that the company was founded on.

-

Their children are also involved in the business, continuing the family tradition and helping to drive Gringo Fairtrade forward with the same dedication and commitment to ethical practices.
